What is the cushion made from?

It's 100% organic cotton, hand finished in a soft knit that's meant to feel substantial without being stiff. If you're curious about why organic cotton behaves differently than standard cotton blends, our organic cotton cushions guide walks through the texture and comfort side of it in more detail.

Can I machine wash this cushion?

No, this one is spot clean only, since the knit and the heart detailing hold their shape best without a full wash cycle. That's different from our throw blankets, which are pre-shrunk and machine washable on delicate, so if you're shopping both at once, keep the care difference in mind.

How do I keep it looking good over time?

Spot clean as needed and keep it out of direct, prolonged sun exposure so the color stays true. Handcrafted knits can have small natural variations from piece to piece, which is normal and part of what makes it feel made by hand rather than machine stamped.

Are the dyes used safe?

Yes, we use AZO free dyes across our products, which means the color process avoids the chemical compound linked to health concerns in some conventional dyes. It's one of the reasons the colors on this cushion, especially softer tones like Pale Pink, stay clean and true rather than muddy.

What size is the cushion?

It's a 16 x 16 inch square, which is a versatile in-between size, big enough to anchor a chair or bed nook but not so oversized that it overwhelms a smaller sofa.

Will the hearts fade or lose their shape after regular use?

Because the pattern is knit into the cotton rather than printed, it won't crack, peel, or fade the way a screen print might over time. Normal wear may soften the texture slightly, which is expected with any hand finished knit piece.

Does it come with a matching piece?
