FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Have questions? You are at the right place.

What does organic combed cotton actually mean, and how is it different from regular cotton?

Organic combed cotton starts as cotton grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, then goes through a combing process that removes shorter, weaker fibers and impurities before spinning. The result is a smoother, stronger, more refined yarn than standard carded cotton, which is part of why the finished knit feels soft rather than rough or nubby at the base fiber level.

Will the black dye bleed or transfer onto the baby skin or clothing?

Properly certified, colorfast dyes shouldn't transfer under normal use, but as a general precaution with any new dark-colored textile, it's reasonable to wash it once before first use and keep an eye on colorfastness during the first few washes, especially if it's ever laundered with light-colored items.

At 40 and 48 inches, will this blanket still be useful once the baby outgrows the newborn stage?

Yes - it's sized larger than our 32 x 36 inch Infant Sets blankets like Trefle or Elegant, so it has room to keep working as a stroller cover, car seat blanket, or floor-play throw well into toddlerhood rather than being outgrown quickly.

Is this a good gift for a gender-neutral or surprise gender reveal shower?

Yes - the Black/Natural palette makes no assumptions about the baby's sex, which makes it a safe, stylish choice if the parents are keeping the gender a surprise or simply prefer not to lean pink or blue.

Is the chunky double moss knit too warm for use in summer months?

It runs a bit heavier than our finer knit blankets, so in warmer climates or seasons it may work best as a stroller or car seat cover in air-conditioned settings rather than a direct-contact swaddle. In cooler weather, that same heft makes it a cozier, more substantial layer.

Does the double moss knit hold its shape over repeated washes, or is it prone to stretching?

Following the care instructions - washing on delicate, laying flat to dry, and reshaping while damp - helps a chunkier knit like this one keep its shape. Skipping the dryer in particular matters here, since heat and tumbling are more likely to stretch or distort a thicker knit than a finer one.

How do I wash and care for this blanket?

Machine wash on a delicate cycle at 30 degrees Celsius, and skip the bleach, as it can affect both the fabric and the moon and stars print. Avoid the tumble dryer and the line - lay it flat and reshape while damp, with a low iron if needed to smooth things out.
